Hunky Spunky

from No Claim by The Grasshoppers

/

about

It deals with an immaginary 60s love, made of ideals full of pathos as freedom (“turn the clock out”) or sex (“Lately I wanna go to the bedroom” etc), pysichedelic non-sense influence (“Bubble tramp” “Serendipity”, “empty desert” [Antonioni’s movie Zabriskie point]); Hunky Spunky is not ispired by the homonym cartoon, but by a sentence that I‘ve seen in a fashion exhibition in a museum, referring to do sex.

lyrics

catch the moment when it’s in the flow.
destiny is only a blue boat,
that moves and changes through the waves.
turn the clock out ‘cause I am late.
bubble trumps is now on my knees,
switched off by Serendipity
and now I can remember your white skin
turn the clock out ‘cause I’m so sick.

lately I wanna
go to the bedroom
and if we gonna
do the Hunky Spunky.
lately we could be
a little bit tired
but now I’m so
damned excited.

catch the moment when it’s in the heart.
destiny is an empty desert
that moves and changes through the winds.
turn the clock out
‘cause I’m so sick.
